Researchers estimate that 75 percent of American adults have some form of periodontitis, and roughly 20 to 25 percent have moderate to severe cases. If left untreated, periodontal disease can lead to more than just tooth loss. Several studies have associated periodontitis with other chronic illnesses, such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and rheumatoid arthritis, which makes it even more important to maintain healthy teeth and gums. In addition to daily tooth brushing and flossing, researchers advise adults to obtain a comprehensive periodontal evaluation every year.

TRI- INDY

Last year a sell-out crowd of 1,200 people participated in the second annual Tri Indy event – the event was spectacular! Utilizing the picturesque canal of Downtown Indianapolis and the streets traversing the city’s cultural and historic landmarks, Tri Indy has once again offered participants a challenging and memorable course. Tri Indy consisted of an Olympic Distance (1500 meter swim, 40K bike and 10K run) a Sprint Distance (500 meter swim, 20K bike, 5K run) and a Short distance Duathlon (2 mile run, 20K bike and 5K run) There is was also a relay division for the Olympic distance triathlon (2 or 3 person).
